 Rates per person, based on a 5 people group. Minimum 2  to start this tour. This is long but mild hike,that you can summit in about 5-6 hours.

The volcano has been inactive for thousands of years. Yet the altitude is considerable (3760 mts) and we assume your doctor has approved you for this hiking.

This rate is based on 5 people minimum to get the tour started. If you are smaller party the rate change. Thank you for contacting us first.

The group's maximum is 20. 

We meet at the town's base which you can reach on public transportation, eventually a taxi or tuck tuck. 

there are two ways to start hiking; one is longer but less fatiguing. the other is faster but you will experience altitude symptoms easily. At certain point both ways reach a common trek. Eventually we will do several stops to rest, snack and take picture. 

If we summit, we can stay on site as long as there is time to descend.

 Finally we start descending, back to the base town and finish the tour there. This is a 5-8 hour tour in total. 

NOTE: we hike on every weather and  even under light rain. So check the weather forecast and make sure your reservation day is ok for you to hike. We wave the right to cancel if the weather is extreme for hiking.

What is included

​

• This rate is very basic.  Picking up your group may be possible in Antigua; an extra fee applies.

•  Guide is included

• entrance fee to the park is not included yet rarely charged.  

• 1 (550ml) Bottle of water is included but you have to carry it with you at all time.

You can buy lunch from us at least 15 hours before the commencement of the tour. Please refer to the menu available.

What equipment to bring?

​

The volcano is located near Antigua area, so at the beginning of the hike you will feel the same temperature. But as you ascend the wind will lower the temperatures considerably so you want to bring a windbreaker, a very warm light jacket (flee jacket),  a wool hat and scarf. According to the season you are hiking, the ground has ice frost. 

​

Bring your sunblock, loose pants and better if you wear a long sleeves shirt.

Bring a hat (against the sun burns)

Bring strong shoes with a good track sole. The volcano's soil trek is very slippery and full of small and large rocks

If you have one, bring a small backpack (ask us for available backpacks to lent you, as we are always short of them)
