Rates per person, based on a 4 people group. Minimum 2 to start this tour. Singles pays $110. This is a mild hike,that you can summit in about 2 hours.
The volcano is currently active and erupting. You would eventually watch rivers of lava and the crater if not smoking, you will watch red eruptions on plain day.
There is an option of hiking on a horse back till the ~2300mts and beyong that point hike on foot.
There is also a lagoon you may visit.

We assume that the vehicle will be full with 4 people, so for less people, the rates may vary. Thank you for contacting us first.

We will pick you up at your hotel in Guatemala City and take you to the Park entrance. At this point you can hike on horseback to the round plateau (price not included). Next we will hike on foot to the top of the crown and walk next to the volcano peak as close as it is safe. When possible we will walk to the other side of the hill for sightview of the Southern area. Then walk back and start descending. This is a 5-6 hour tour in total + traveling time to the site. You can do it in less if you only reach the plateau.

What equipment to bring?
The volcano is located on a very warm area, so at the beginning of the hike you will feel very warm. But as you ascend the wind will lower the temperatures so you want to bring a windbreaker or even a jacket depending on the season.
Bring your sunblock, loose pants and better if you wear a long sleeves shirt.
Bring a hat.
Bring strong shoes with a good track sole. The volcanic rocks at the plateau are very tricky to walk on.
If you have one, bring a small backpack (ask us for available backpacks to lent you, as we are always short of them)
